The Future Artefacts Archive explores the digital preservation of landscapes; set to be released for the development of London’s housing plan. The preservation of these landscapes is crucial to maintain the history and culture of the people that inhabited these lands for many a generation. To do so, the first part of the project revolved around the collection of ecological, geological and archaeological point cloud data from the site. Modern contemporary satellite mapping systems, such as Google Maps, were used in the collection of such data.
The point cloud data was then developed into a series 3d objects, physical representations in miniature. These were created with a variety of media including digital fabrication and sculpted methods. The building proposition is a civil institute to present these objects and preserved stories for future generations.
